Did you know that a $100 detail could end up costing $5000?

A $100 detail usually takes 1 1/2 hours to complete.  To keep the time short, heavy compounds and high speed buffers with very aggressive pads are used.  Chances are in the process, a few edges get burned.  More paint will be removed than necessary.  A quick shine is achieved by using one kind of compound, one kind of wax, and one kind of rubber dressing. 

After a few of these "$100 details"  It will be time for a new paint job- $5000.  If you only hand polish your car, some oxidation will be left on the paint resulting in an uneven shine.  Because the paint was not properly cleaned first, the wax will not last as long.

Note: Classy Cars does not offer mobile cleaning service.  We know we cannot give a 110% job in a parking lot, in the sun and wind, and fighting the elements.  Classy cars operates in a fixed location under controlled conditions for the most consistent and best job possible.  We do offer some custom work at your location provided you have a spacious, enclosed facility.

At Classy Cars, an average detail takes 3 to 4 hours with two people working on each vehicle.

1. We start by washing the car with deionized water, not reclaimed tap water.

2. We clean the wheel wells, rims, and tires using mild degreaser--not an acid or other heavy duty chemicals that can cause pealing on chrome rims or damage clear wheel coats.

It is being prepared for your detail.  We mask all rubber and cover the front cowl and wipers to protect them from compounds while polishing.

3. Our process of cleaning the paint surface before polishing does not remove any paint. It does remove pollution, fallout, rail dust or even over spray from your paint.

Every car is different and not every car is in the same condition.  That is why we use many different kinds of products.

4. When we polish the paint, we use the mildest products to get the best shine with the least amount of wear to the point service.  Some people tell you they can remove the scratches but, how long will your paint last?  Not long!  *  We use a combination of polishing machines and we hand polish all the edges for the most even and the brightest shine possible.  We then choose a wax, which we apply either by machine or by hand, using a non scratch applicator.  *  The wax is removed by hand or by orbital polisher for the most even shine possible.  *  All details are inspected inside the shop under fluorescent lights for minor imperfections in the paint that cannot be seen in the sunlight.  *  Then these vehicles are inspected outside for flaws that cannot be seen under fluorescent lights.

2. Wash & Inside Clean: all of the above plus vacuum carpets, floor mats, and between seats-Spot clean carpets & mats - Light clean dash - Clean windows.

3. Wash & Quick Wax: for a light touch up before the show.

4. Mini Detail: Wash and hand wax - Vacuum carpets, floor mats, and between seats - Vacuum trunk - clean carpets, floor mats, door panels and center console - Polish interior wood.

5. Full Detail: outside wash, clean rims, tires, wheel wells, and door jams - Dry car completely. Clean and assess paint for polishing and waxing - Wax door and trunk jams - Clean and treat all rubber, including weather stripping, door molding and trunk molding - Clean, polish and wax all chrome - polish all aluminum. 

Complete Inside Detail: Vacuum all carpets, floor mats seats, trunk and door pockets - Clean and treat dash vents - Clean center console - Dry chem foam carpets, floor mats, seats (if cloth) and door panels - (if seats are leather they are cleaned and treated, stitching included).- Clean and polish all wood - Clean windows.
